Social-emotional learning is learning to identify, understand, manage, and engage with our emotions. While emotional knowledge and awareness is important for all ages to be happy and healthy individuals, it is critical to begin developing these skills as children when little ones are first learning to play and interact with others, meeting a big feeling they don't quite understand, coping through a difficult feeling, and having grace with themselves and empathy for others.
The more we engage with materials that encourage this notion, the more we naturally adopt the characteristics of healthy self and relationships. This means: happy kids! :)
